Does VoIP work when cable service is down?

Hi All,

I have tv, phone, and internet through my cable company. When the cable company has problems, I have no internet or phone connection , although the tv generally continues to work.I'm considering switching phone service to Voip and understand the computer doesn't have to be on. I just realized, however, that I bet the cable connection itself has to be working. Right?

VoIP phone system depends on high-speed Internet connection. When there’s no Internet connection, obviously, it won’t work. I also suggest you to find a reliable IP pbx service provider to get high quality telecommunication service.
