Softphones

Postby meadowsoprano » Sun Jun 25, 2006 3:42 am

Does anyone use a softphone on their PC (kind of like a skype or vbuzzer application) with axvoice?

I'm going to be traveling to france and don't want to take my linksys device, phone, etc with me.

I heard Vonage charges like $10 a month extra for a softphone, I didn't see anything about this on axvoice's website

thanks!

You can use any softphone you want with our service without an additional charge. You can download one from http://www.axvoice.com/X-PRO_Install.exe

Configuration Instructions

1. Click menu button on the right side above digit 3, and a new screen will open.
2. Go to System Settings.
3. Then SIP Proxy
4. Then Default
5. Then enter the following parameters.

Enable = yes
Display Name = Your Name
SIP Username = your username
Authorization user = your username
Password = your password
Domain realm: axvoice.com
SIP proxy = 216.143.130.36
use outbound proxy: Never
Sent internal IP: Default
Register: Always
Voicemail Sip URL: none (leave it blank)

Save and exit.

Is it OK to be logged in twice (an ATA and a soft phone, say), if only one call is active at any given time?

You can log on at the same time but the other (the one registered first) would loose registration.
